The Assessment Collaborative Institute 2026

The Assessment Collaborative Institute focuses on utilizing classroom assessments and sound grading practices to foster student learning and achievement. It provides educators with strategies to cultivate a growth mindset in students, avoid common assessment errors, facilitate collaborative identification of learning issues, and establish systems for the development, scoring, analysis, and response to assessments. Key learning outcomes span assessment architecture (e.g., writing effective multiple-choice and constructed-response items, creating assessments for 21st-century skills), instructional agility (e.g., mapping assessment plans, data analysis, student goal engagement), student investment (e.g., proficiency-based learning targets, rubric-based scoring, progress monitoring), and assessment leadership (e.g., professional development, balanced assessment systems, reassessment policies).
