The meeting focused on the presentation of the proposed Title VI EASIE Part II application, covering the student count, allocation, objectives, activities, and budget. Due to low attendance, it was decided to conduct a follow-up survey via email for committee members to vote on the proposal. The application was subsequently approved following the successful collection of votes through the survey.
The committee reviewed incident reports covering a specified three-week period and discussed the implementation of Ukeru training as a method to reduce workers' compensation claims. Further discussion points included inquiries regarding the impact of student-related incidents on insurance rates and the scheduling of Ukeru recertification. Additionally, the committee addressed the development of consistent safety protocols, including evacuation and lockdown plans, across all organizational buildings.
The meeting focused on updates related to the ECE Workforce Committee Goals, including the completion of Year 1 for the Pyramid Model Implementation, which involved 5 coaches, 8 programs, 11 classrooms, and 27 staff members, and the launch of Year 2. Discussions on Child Care Expansion included the completion of the RCC Fast Track pilot, updates on Paid Internships, the nearing end of SOELS Slot Expansion Year 2, and planning for Child Care Startup/Rural Expansion. A Child Care Video Campaign Phase I was completed, sponsored by JRHA, featuring content for families, programs, businesses, and the future; Phase II is planned as a Child Care Summit in Spring 2026, aiming to engage various stakeholders to identify a goal for annual funded child care slots and identify Family Friendly Businesses. The committee also addressed cultivating quality sites for internships and practicums, noting issues with the reliability of SPARK revisions and the burden placed on a small number of existing hosting programs, leading to a discussion on expanding quality assessment methods for new sites.
